I have been collecting this beautiful collection of cloth-bound editions of classic books. Designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith using patterns on a grid that convey something of the individual titles.

Hanes Llandoch Website

“Hanes Llandoch has been established to reinvigorate the St. Dogmaels’ community and generate pride in the heritage and achievements in this area of northwest Pembrokeshire.”

The Hanes Llandoch team wanted to create a real community in the area through conservation, education and tourism. The website was needed as a portal for the project where all of these elements could be bought together.

I took inspiration from the beauty of the area and used natural elements in the design, combined with beautiful photography to create a friendly and attractive site which should appeal both the people within the area using the site and also to the visitors they hope to attract.

Brace’s Bakery

“Brace’s Bakery has grown since the early days over one hundred years ago when George Brace delivered bread by horse and cart.” Today they have a full range of bakery products available in local stores in the UK.

Brace’s Bakery required a site that was more focused on their customers – primarily families with children looking for information and ideas. The site was designed in bright colours and bold fonts to match their offline branding and fun characters were created to guide children through the parts of the site aimed at them.

Sonya & Rob’s Wedding

As a gift to one of my oldest friends I built her a wedding site to hold all the information on the big day.

They needed a simple site where their guests could find information about the day. We included maps, directions and hotel recommendations for guests traveling down for the wedding – all in one place where they could refer to it easily. We also linked out to their gift lists and after the wedding posted the guests’ photographs.

Children’s Commissioner for Wales

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales speaks up for children and young people’s rights and helps to protect them. The new commissioner required a website that would ensure he could engage children, get them to interact and share their opinions.

I had so much fun illustrating characters and colourful backgrounds to make this a website that children would find exciting and engaging.

Hanes Llandoch Kiosk

Central to this project is a beautiful, renovated coach house, which serves as a visitor centre. They required a touchscreen kiosk for visitors to discover events, attractions and information.

I took the general look and feel from the website design I had previously completed and adapted it to be more suited to the full screen display of a touchscreen kiosk with large buttons and images

Gwynedd Ni Logo

Gwynedd-Ni (Our Gwynedd) is an organisation that aims to engage the young people of Gwynedd and their families by providing information and advice. They required a logo design that was not only appealing to young people but could communicate to, parents and professionals that may get involved.

I created a logo that was bright and bold and immediately communicated that the organisation involved young people. I also ensured that it could be used in a variety of colour combinations as appropriate.

Gamlin’s Music Centre

Gamlin’s Music Centre stocks a complete range of musical instruments as well as books, gifts and accessories. It was established in 1960 as a family business. The owners wanted a new website that fitted in line with their brand. They already had a loyal customer base in Cardiff and were hoping to build on this and extend their reach outside of Wales.

The site is bright, colourful and easy to use. Featured products, special offers and product ranges can all be highlighted on the homepage.

Virginia Hayward Hampers

“Virginia Hayward Hampers delivers distinctive hampers and gifts on behalf of customers who especially wish to spoil recipients at Christmas and throughout the year.”

I designed Virginia Hayward a site that communicated the quality of both their products and service. The site allows them to modify the colours and image on the homepage to suit the season.

The site has won the New Media Age magazine Site of the Week award, scoring 95/100

The Big Event Accommodation

I created this branding and website for a company providing people with a place to advertise their homes as a place to stay during the Ryder Cup which will be held in Wales in 2010.

Unfortunately they were affected by copyright restrictions and subsequently had to change their name and logo to The Big Event Accommodation.

War Memorials Trust

“The War Memorials Trust works for the protection and conservation of war memorials in the UK. They provide advice and information to anyone as well as running grant schemes for the repair and conservation of war memorials.”

The War Memorials Trust rely heavily on donations and volunteers to continue their valuable work. I created a site that was friendly and accessible, allowing their visitors to feel truly involved.

“The aim of Cardiff Libraries in Co-operation is to make access to libraries as seamless as possible for people living, working and studying in the Cardiff area, and for the people working in libraries to have as much knowledge as possible of the range of services and facilities that are on offer in CLIC partner libraries.”

CLIC required a simple and clean brand and website that would enable users to search and discover the services and facilities located at the many libraries in the Cardiff area. By using cool, calm colours and simple, elegant black and white photography I created a professional and contemporary look.
